Mechanical Designer

Imperial Systems (Mercer, PA) has a new opportunity for an entry / mid-level Mechanical Designer. This position will include both new equipment and system design in the Industrial Air Filtration industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating / modifying 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Developing Bills of Materials and routers.  
  • Understanding, sourcing, and quoting of various components.
  • New Product Development
  • Works directly with Sales to ensure equipment meets customer’s specifications. 
  • Effective communication with sales, manufacturing, and purchasing.

Filter Manufacturing

This position is responsible for the safe production of quality dust collection filters. This product line is essential to the growth and success of Imperial Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safe set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of all equipment required to manufacture quality dust collection filters; examples include: filter media pleating machine, pleating seamer, core coiling machine, spot welder, urethane dispenser, glue dispensers, shrink wrap machine, cording machine, and various other hand tools and devices as required.
  • Perform and document essential traceability information, quality and process checks to specifications.
  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping
  • Follow all SOP’s and JSA’s
  • Operation of forklifts and hoists
  • Check quality of work to drawings/specification and part quantity
  • Complete paperwork as required. Timecards, process checks, check sheets, etc.
  • Other tasks as instructed by supervision

Qualifications

  • High school or GED, Vo-Tech or trade school preferred
  • 1 – 2 years experience in industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Specific skills: Spot welding/welding (preferred), Forklift (preferred)
  • Physical abilities: Standing full shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to loud noises may require hearing protection, exposure to chemicals and fumes may require use of respirator, various sheet metal products may require specific PPE protection, communication with others, some repetitive motion
Aftermarket Sales

Imperial Systems, a manufacturing company specializing in air pollution control, is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Aftermarket Sales team. 

The position requires a responsible, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team.  They will assist in various stages of the sales cycle gaining hands on experience and sales training support.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting for new business through research and outgoing phone calls
  • Help develop customer relationships
  • Assist in maintaining and managing customer interactions through CRM system
  • Work with and support aftermarket sales, territory managers and rep network

Field Installer

Imperial Systems is seeking a self-motivated field equipment installer.

Job Description

  • The position entails installation of industrial ventilation equipment such as hanging ductwork, installing fans, and rigging equipment.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, rigging/equipment layout, and cement work is a plus.
  • Acquaintance with of use of equipment such as a transit, welder, hand tools, forklifts and man lifts considered a plus.
  • Working in customer’s facilities and abiding by all safety regulations
  • Must have good communication skills, professional self-presentation, clean driving record.
  • Experience working with little to no supervision and good time management.
  • Travel is a requirement.
  • Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic math principles to include trigonometry and linear measurements.
  • Experience reading blueprints and showing aptitude in spatial reasoning skills is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs pounds from ground to overhead.

Powder Coat Operator

This position is responsible for the safe handling, hanging, prepping/washing, powder coating and properly tagging of product being bent on the press brake.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Selecting correct color for each part of each job
  • Properly hanging, prepping and washing all parts
  • Powder coating all parts to specifications
  • Checking powder coating coverage, quality and mil gage.
  • Completing manufactured equipment checklist to assure all parts for job are powder coated for assembly
  • Properly tagging completed work with required information.
  • Follow all SOP’s and JSA’s
  • Operation of forklifts and hoists
  • Checking quality of work to drawings/specification and part quantity

Customer Service Manager

Overseeing the Customer Services Department to allow development of strong relationships with a portfolio of customers both internal and external, while supporting the outside sales team in order for the business unit to exceed sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Customer Service Department to develop and maintain the highest possible customer relationships with current and prospective customers to provide unparalleled customer satisfaction
  • Establish and maintain procedures for the Customer Service Department to ensure effective and efficient order entry with corresponding sales acknowledgements

  • Support all Rep/Dealers in the Territory (Call/email/Travel/Training)

Sales Estimator

Duties

  • Work direct with the territorial sales managers and the Imperial Sales Representative network  by establishing reliable cost estimates for fabrications and system work from concept designs through final installation.
  • Use Imperial Systems Software program to generate sales quotations for review and submission by the sales engineers.
  • Work Closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Shop Fabrication, Field Supervisors, and Imperial Systems Administration to create an accurate sale price including raw materials, fabrication labor, field labor, and miscellaneous installation expenses.
  • Interface directly with equipment and material vendors to solicit pricing as required for a project.
  • Interface directly with customers to obtain needed information if directed to do so by the sales engineer.
  • Logical thought process or ability to “step through” a project and recognized all cost centers of a fabrication or system.
  • Interpret and understand mechanical drawings related to a system of fabrication.
  • Travel to Jobsites for field measurements or to assist the sales engineer to achieve needed information to complete an estimate. This may include attending bid meetings when required and possible overnight stays.
  • Attend trade shows or educational programs as required by Imperial Systems management of immediate supervisor.

Systems Engineer

Due to continued growth, Imperial Systems (Mercer, PA) has a new opportunity for an entry / mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer. This position will focus on the design of custom Industrial Air Filtration Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop engineering drawings of complete industrial dust and fume collection systems.
  • Develop Bills of Materials.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Effectively communicating with project managers, sales, manufacturing, purchasing and customers (as needed).
  • Ability to multi-task, handling multiple projects from “cradle to grave”.

Requirements
